IMPORTANT (Follow up): Did CKF pay up? Or no? Covering more details + misconceptions.

 Hey hey hey, just writing a follow-up to the article two days ago. With serious courtesy this time, covering everything that's been said since.

 Before we begin though, whilst CKF has paid for the reparations required for the wall (as we'll touch on later), SCOTCORE and Riffs & Ramps are planning to host a fundraiser gig either for the Audio Lounge or for charity (depending on further details we await) so if you're in a hardcore or metal band DM either @chvselar or @morbidcvnt on instagram.

 

 

Now, first thing out the way: Did CKF pay reparations? Yes.

 

The Audio Lounge states so here, although the exact sum and whether it was a partial covering is unsure.

 Would just like to mention -- big up on the folks over at the Audio Lounge for giving CKF that professional courtesy that (in my opinion) they haven't done much to deserve.

 

Now on the darker side of things, CKF did lie. This is where my mask of "serious journalist" falls off and where my real thoughts shine out some more. The boys at CKF lied about how they handled this situation and how well the folk over took it.

 This is a statement from Rhys Ferguson of CKF, a statement made before the Audio Lounge's official statement (embed below the article).

 Now, for my statement:

Why would you even lie about something like this? No one had a "good laugh" about this especially not when it's been the second time the folk at the Audio Lounge have been put in this kind of situation in a matter of less than a month. Is this your attempt to save face? Because I assure you the shit that's been said about you and that is BEING said about yous sealed that deal a long time ago. You just can't be seen well in any community when the people that show up to CKF intentionally target young women and then cry about sum "nooo my victim" once they leave battered, the stories I've heard of scenarios such as that are absolutely vile. The boat hasn't just sailed, my brother, the boat's drunk a Redbull, had itself wings and is going to Africa for the winter.

 Now, back to being chill, about this: if there's enough interest I'm willing to interview people and to research all of the CKF allegations in detail (and that means I'm willing to give CKF themselves a chance to give their POV on everything) but I don't know just how common knowledge it is, and I wouldn't wanna blurt something people already know out.

 

One last thing, in regards to me and Noah's planned fundraiser gig.

 I'm not gonna say who said this, I've talked enough shit for today, but the question remains: why would you essentially try and discourage us for putting something like this on? Be paid as it may be, maybe the folks at the Audio Lounge deserve some extra financial comfort given how absolutely stressful these 2 months must've been for them. Actually, there is no "maybe" they would absolutely deserve that. Because if I was the owner of a venue and a promoter's show did THIS to my business not only would I have them sent to the blacklist faster than their so-called "moshers" rushed to fuck my wall up but I also would've had no problem pointing fingers at them online. Obviously, and you know who you are if you see this, it could just be a big misunderstanding: maybe you just wanted to ease our hearts and not try and stop us from holding a gig that would make CKF look like shit. But we won't make anyone look like shit, it's not in our intention and we don't have to. Your promoters have been doing that themselves, and we honestly could not care less about beating a dead horse over letting everyone working at the Audio Lounge know that they are backed by a community that has cherished them for years and by a youth of that community that will CONTINUE to support them no matter what.

 

Audio Lounge is Hardcore. Hardcore is family, and we stand up for eachother. Not out of hate for the ones who wrong us, but out of love and respect for all the wonderful years we share.
