The singles; it's DOP, it's heavy, it's great you don't need me to tell you that. What I do want to talk about, however, is what's going on in Summerhall right now which seems relevant since that's where they'll be playing. Gist of it is there's plans to knock some buildings in Summerhall down to make room for more student accommodation, hotels and shit like that: all of which Edinburgh has plenty of and does not need during a housing crisis. If you want to live in a flat by yourself in Edinburgh now you can expect to pay about £1200 excluding rent and it's ridiculous but apparently what our city needs right now is more shitty 1-room student "housing" that'll cost you a kidney and more hotels because, of course, tourist activity concerns those higher on the financial ladder more than Edinburgh's culture and residents. There is no tolerance to be had for this kind of shit in a community and arts space. Protect the 131. Fuck AMA. Fuck your hotels. Fuck your overpriced student accommodation. Fuck your empty "luxury" homes that we will never afford. Fuck you.
