Scotland Metalcore band "Exile SCT" have just put out a new single under the name of Berserker. This track fuses elements of both older and newer takes on metalcore: it has melodic passages, heavy riffs but it also doesn't ignore the power of stupidly heavy breakdowns. This song utilises many past cliches of hardcore and metalcore, but what makes Exile stand out is that they've somehow managed to blend all of these past and nostalgic passages into one coherent experience which is insanely hype.
What this single tells me about the band itself is that they are a group of people who know what they're doing and can make heavy, fun music without sacrificing authenticity. It is absolutely amazing and something I've seen many attempt and few succeed at.
